This year in Kindergarten, your student will learn the following skills and concepts through play-based centers:

• Classify & sort objects into categories

• Identify 2D shapes of different orientations and sizes

• Recognize shapes to be either 2D (flat) or 3D (solid)

• Write numbers 0-20; represent a number of objects with a numeral

• Use 1-to-1 correspondence when counting objects

• Count to 100, by 1's and 10's

• Compare numbers using >, <, or =

• Add & subtract within 10, using various methods

• Decompose numbers within 10 (ie: 5= 4+1, 5= 3+2)

• Compose & decompose numbers 11-20, using tens and ones ( 15 = 1 ten & 5 ones)
