What time does school start/end?
School starts at 8:15 am everyday, and dismissal is at 2:20 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays, we have early dismissal at 1:25 pm.

Where do I pick up my child at dismissal?
All first grade classes are picked up at the black gate on Addison Avenue, between room 4 and the KG classes. Please wait behind the gate for your child. ☺️ Students who go to Right at School or AKC will walk over at dismissal time.

When do kids eat?
Snack is between 10-10:20, and lunch is at 12:00! 

How does my child go about ordering a snack or lunch?
It's very simple! Students who would like a school brunch/lunch pick up their cards from the MP room and get their food from Ms. Jenny. 

Does my child need spare clothing in their backpack?
Yes, please! Accidents happen -- whether it is falling into mud, a tear in clothing, or a bathroom accident. Having access to a new/clean set of clothes will help students refresh & reset quickly (and minimize calls home). Please keep spare clothing in a plastic bag inside your child's backpack. Thank you!!

What is first grade homework?
First grade homework consists of reading each night for 10 minutes. 

Do you need volunteers for art or science classes?
Always! I'd love to have 2 adults come and help out in art and science classes. Check back soon for sign ups!

Will there be field trips this year? How do I volunteer to be a chaperone?
Definitely! We will announce field trips at least a month in advance, and ask for chaperones at that time. Chaperones will receive a confirmation email, followed by a Room 5 Chaperone Guide.

When does room 5 have art/science/music/library/P.E.?
Music - Mondays, 11:30-12
Science with Bill - Tuesdays,  TBA
Library - Wednesdays, 9:30-10
PE - Wednesdays, 10:20-10:50
Art - Thursdays, 9:10-10
